We were saddened to learn of the Oct. 20 passing of former Argo (1966-70) defensive back Ron Arends. He was 76.
As a fan of the Toronto Argonauts, I was thrilled to read about Ron Arends and his time as an Argo. It’s inspiring to hear about former players who continue to stay involved in the sport and give back to the community. The Toronto Argonauts Alumni Association sounds like a fantastic organization, and it’s great to know that they honor and celebrate the successes of former players like Ron. I hope his story can inspire a new generation of players to strive for greatness both on and off the field.
Ron was our Quarteback at East York Collegiate. I remember him well and watched with pride when he played for the Argos. My son’s fathe in law is Bill Simons and what a great Alumni he is.
