Storey, Buster “Red”

An elusive running back best remembered for his three TD performance in the 1938 Grey Cup. It was the second consecutive Grey Cup championship for Storey and for the Argos. A great all-around athlete who excelled in many sports, Storey was probably best known for his work as an NHL referee. Storey was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame (1967) and Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame (1986) and was made a Member of the Order of Canada in 1991. He was also inducted into the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame in 2001. He was 88 when he died in 2006 in Montreal after a lengthy illness.
