Rumball, Bob

A one-time defensive back who would add the title ‘Reverend’ to his name. Established the pioneering Bob Rumball Centre for the Deaf (Milton, Ont.)  in 1979. Rumball’s work has been recognized with many honours, including the Order of Ontario, the Order of Canada, and appointment as a Citizenship Court Judge. Sadly, Reverend Robert L. Rumball passed away June 1, 2016.

 

RUMBALL, Rev. Robert Leslie – October 2nd, 1929 – June 1st, 2016

The Reverend Robert Rumball passed away peacefully on June 1, 2016.

He is recognized as the individual who had the greatest impact on the quality of life, human rights and services for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Special Needs community in the past century.

There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday June 18 at 7 pm at The Bob Rumball Centre for the Deaf, 2395 Bayview Avenue in Toronto.

For those not able to attend, on Friday, June 17 from 7pm – 9pm there will be a drop in visitation time with friends and family.
